diploma in basic education

The Diploma in Basic Education programme is designed to equip students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become effective and dedicated teachers in basic schools (primary and junior high schools) in Ghana. The programme emphasizes pedagogical principles, subject matter content, classroom management techniques, and assessment strategies relevant to the basic education curriculum. Students will learn how to create engaging and inclusive learning environments, adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs, and critically reflect on their teaching practice to continuously improve their effectiveness. The programme also focuses on the socio-cultural context of education in Ghana and promotes ethical and professional conduct among teachers.
