The BSc Sustainable Forestry programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the ecological, economic, and social dimensions of forest management. It focuses on balancing timber production with the conservation of biodiversity, water resources, and other ecosystem services. Students learn about forest ecology, silviculture, forest mensuration, forest economics, and forest policy, as well as the principles of sustainable resource management. The programme emphasizes the importance of community involvement and participation in forest management decisions and prepares graduates to address the challenges of climate change, deforestation, and land degradation in Ghana and beyond. Students will gain skills in data analysis, spatial modeling, and decision-making to promote responsible stewardship of forest resources for current and future generations.
