The BSc Agricultural Extension and Community Development programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to bridge the gap between agricultural research and rural communities. It focuses on disseminating agricultural innovations, promoting sustainable farming practices, and fostering community development through participatory approaches. Students will learn about agricultural science, extension methodologies, communication strategies, community development principles, and project management. The programme emphasizes practical training, enabling graduates to effectively address the challenges facing agricultural communities in Ghana and beyond. It also incorporates elements of rural sociology, economics, and policy to provide a holistic understanding of the agricultural landscape and its impact on community livelihoods. Students also gain skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support evidence-based decision-making in agricultural extension and community development interventions.
