The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Basic Education programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become effective and dedicated teachers in basic schools (primary and junior high schools) in Ghana. The programme focuses on pedagogical principles, subject matter content, child development, and classroom management techniques. Students will learn how to create engaging and inclusive learning environments, assess student progress, and collaborate with parents and communities to support student learning. Emphasis is placed on understanding the Ghanaian educational system and its challenges, as well as exploring innovative teaching methods relevant to the local context. The curriculum integrates theory with practical experience through school-based practicum and teaching practice.
