The Bachelor of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) programme is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on the study of human communication and its disorders. This programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the biological, psychological, and linguistic aspects of speech, language, and hearing. Students will learn to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of communication disorders affecting individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experiences, preparing graduates for careers as speech-language pathologists and audiologists. Core concepts include phonetics, linguistics, anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing mechanisms, audiology, child language development, and the nature and management of various communication disorders such as stuttering, aphasia, articulation disorders, and hearing loss.
