The Bachelor of Orthotics and Prosthetics (BOP) programme is a healthcare-related programme focused on the design, fabrication, and fitting of orthoses (braces and supports) and prostheses (artificial limbs). Students will learn the biomechanical principles underlying human movement, the pathologies that necessitate orthotic or prosthetic intervention, and the materials and technologies used in creating these devices. The programme emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical experience, preparing graduates to work directly with patients to improve their mobility and quality of life. Students will gain expertise in patient assessment, device design, fabrication techniques, and fitting protocols. They will also learn about the psychosocial aspects of limb loss and disability.
