The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and professional values necessary to provide comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as to newborns. The program emphasizes evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making in midwifery care. Students will learn about reproductive health, antenatal care, labor and delivery, postnatal care, newborn care, and family planning. They will also develop skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and teamwork to effectively collaborate with other healthcare professionals. The program integrates theoretical learning with practical clinical experiences in hospitals, clinics, and community settings, ensuring that graduates are prepared to meet the diverse healthcare needs of women and families in Ghana.
