The BA Development Studies programme is a multidisciplinary social science degree that critically examines the processes of social, economic, and political change in developing countries. It provides students with a strong foundation in development theories, methodologies, and practices. The programme explores the complex challenges of poverty, inequality, environmental sustainability, and governance, equipping students with the analytical and practical skills needed to contribute to positive change in a globalizing world. Core concepts include development economics, political economy, sociology of development, participatory development, and sustainable development. Students will learn to analyze development issues from diverse perspectives, design and implement development projects, and engage in policy advocacy.
