The BA in Development and Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to understand and address the complex challenges of sustainable development and environmental management, particularly within the context of developing countries like Ghana. The programme integrates theories and practices from various disciplines, including economics, sociology, geography, political science, and environmental science. Students will explore the interplay between social, economic, and environmental factors, and learn how to develop and implement effective policies and strategies for promoting sustainable development, mitigating environmental degradation, and improving the quality of life for communities. Core concepts include sustainable development principles, environmental policy and governance, community development strategies, resource management, and climate change adaptation.
